CLIMATE

of Wayanad

Wayanad is relatively cool with a mean temperature of 19 to 32 degree Celsius

The humidity levels are usually quite high throughout the year, sometimes making it a bit overbearing. But it has its own set of benefits, bestowing a richness of flora and fauna along with salubrious clime for a relaxing holiday. Wayanad is blessed with some of the highest rainfall in the country. For the lovers of rain and Monsoon chasers, a double window exists for a truly wet experience with the South-West Monsoon usually hitting Wayanad during the June-September months, and the North-West Monsoon in October-November.

If you ask us, the rainy seasons are indeed the best time to visit Wayanad, particularly if you want to see the forests, waterfalls in full glory and the fauna renewed to its best. The double monsoons and the accompanying mists that engulf everything here, giving life a dreamy feel have earned the title of “the home of the monsoon” for Wayanad.

The summer months of March-May are better suited for outdoor activities and wildlife safaris with animal sightings better in summer owing to many animals migrating to the forests of Wayanad from other reserves, in search of greener pastures and watering holes.
