Soochipara Falls

The Soochipara Falls (also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfall) is located on the Kozhikode-Vythiri-Gudallur Expressway, in the Vellarimala Mountains of Wayanad, 25 km from Kalpetta in Wayanad, 46 km from Sulthanbathery, and a 30-minute drive or about 13 km from Meppady. It takes its name from the Malaysian words soochi (needle) and para (rock). It is one of the most famous waterfalls in Kerala and a must as part of a Wayanads holiday package. You can reach the falls on a winding road through tea plantations and natural forests. Many tourists prefer to swim by the ponds and waterfalls while others prefer a quiet picnic with their families. The best time to visit the waterfalls is during the monsoon season when the waterfalls are at their best. It includes evergreen and deciduous forests and can be viewed from some of the best cascades. Most people prefer to visit the waterfalls at the bottom, which are easy to reach as water flows in a tiny stream. The main waterfall is about 1 km from the entrance gate and the word “Soochipara” means “needle in the rock” and describes the shape of the 200 m high rock that is located there. The main waterfall is surrounded by two hills called Vellarimala and Chooralmala that are covered with dense forest. The waterfall is a remarkable sight and the path that leads to it with the tea plantations is wonderful. To reach the waterfall, you have to make a two-kilometer hike through a wet deciduous forest. Meenmutty Waterfall

The Meenmutty waterfall, a three-level waterfall 29 km from Kalpetta, is the most spectacular and largest in the district. It is a great waterfall in a state of water where nose-diving is bound to awe you up to 1,000 ft. The unspoiled natural ambiance of the place, combined with the gentle rushing of the rushing water from the rocks, can wipe away the fatigue of the hike. Even if you are far away from the waterfalls in the jungle, it can hear and it will renew your mind. The sparkling clear waterfalls from an altitude of 300m and falls into an idyllic pool below. This is at an altitude of 200 feet which forms a water pool in which visitors can swim. Kanthanpara Waterfall

The Kanthanpara Waterfall (Kanthenpara means “magnetic rocks waterfall”) is located in Meppadi city in the Wayanad district of the southern Indian state of Kerala.
